“I Will Extol You” is a festive setting for mixed chorus and organ, featuring the organ’s state trumpet. In the opening section, the chorus and organ exchange rhymically-charged declarations of praise. This is followed by a contemplative middle section whereupon the jubliant tone is repeated in a truncated form.
This piece was commissioned by the Jacksonville, Florida Chapter of the American Guild of Organists for the 2017 Southeast Convention.
